Pinus Strobus ‘Fastigiata’

Columnar Eastern White Pine

Evergreen conifer with a narrow, upright fastigiate habit, forming a tall, columnar to narrowly pyramidal tree. It is a selected form of Eastern White Pine valued for its refined vertical structure, soft-textured foliage, and elegant form in formal or space-limited landscapes.

The foliage consists of long, soft, flexible needles grouped in bundles of five. The needles are bluish-green to soft green, giving the plant a light, airy texture compared to many denser pines. The upright branching habit creates a strong vertical accent while maintaining a soft overall appearance.

Pinus strobus ‘Fastigiata’ prefers full sun to light shade and well-drained, slightly acidic soil. It performs best in sandy or loamy soils and is sensitive to compacted or poorly drained conditions. Once established, it shows good cold hardiness and moderate drought tolerance. It is ideal for vertical accents, narrow spaces, screening, and formal landscape designs where a soft-textured column is desired.
