Dwarf evergreen conifer with a dense, naturally conical habit, forming a compact miniature spruce with strong seasonal color interest. It is a slow-growing selection of White Spruce valued not only for its tight structure but especially for its bright spring coloration.
The foliage consists of short, stiff needles that are bright green in summer, with a distinctive soft yellow to creamy-white flush of new growth in spring. This contrasting “two-tone” effect gives the plant its ornamental appeal. As the season progresses, the new growth matures back to green, creating a subtle layered coloration.
Picea glauca ‘Rainbow’s End’ prefers full sun to partial shade and well-drained soil. It performs best in slightly acidic to neutral soils and does not tolerate waterlogged conditions. Once established, it shows excellent cold hardiness but is sensitive to prolonged heat and drought stress. It is ideal for rock gardens, small ornamental beds, containers, and focal points where seasonal color contrast can be appreciated.
