Dwarf evergreen conifer with a dense, naturally symmetrical conical habit, forming a perfect miniature Christmas tree shape without pruning. It is extremely slow-growing and maintains a very tight, uniform structure throughout its life, making it one of the most recognizable dwarf spruces in ornamental horticulture.
The foliage consists of short, stiff, bright green needles densely arranged along the branches, creating a soft but compact texture. Its color remains consistent year-round, with fresh light green growth in spring that matures to a richer green tone.
Picea glauca ‘Conica’ prefers full sun to partial shade and well-drained soil. It performs best in slightly acidic to neutral soils and does not tolerate prolonged heat, drought, or waterlogged conditions. Once established, it shows excellent cold hardiness but is generally sensitive to heat stress and late winter burn in exposed sites. It is ideal for containers, rock gardens, formal planting schemes, entrance accents, and small-scale ornamental landscapes.
