Juniperus Squamata ‘Blue Star’

Blue Star Juniper

Evergreen conifer with a very compact, dense, mound-forming habit. Unlike spreading junipers, it grows slowly into a tight, rounded cushion, giving a strong architectural presence even in small spaces.

The foliage is composed of short, sharp, needle-like leaves arranged densely along short shoots. Its color is a striking silvery-blue to steel blue, very intense and consistent throughout the year, making it highly valued as a color accent plant.

Juniperus squamata ‘Blue Star’ prefers full sun and well-drained soil, performing best in sandy, rocky, or lean soils. It does not tolerate heavy, poorly drained conditions. Once established, it shows high drought tolerance, excellent cold hardiness, and good resistance to urban environments. It is ideal for rock gardens, small garden accents, borders, and container planting.
