Evergreen conifer with a low, broad-spreading habit, forming a dense shrub that covers large areas efficiently. Its strong, horizontal branching creates a uniform and durable groundcover, while maintaining a natural appearance.

The foliage is composed mainly of fine, scale-like leaves, occasionally mixed with juvenile needle-like growth. Its color is a rich green to dark green, remaining attractive throughout the year. During winter, the foliage may develop slight bronze or purplish tones. When crushed, the foliage releases the characteristic strong scent of Juniperus sabina.

Juniperus sabina ‘Buffalo’ prefers full sun and well-drained soil, thriving in poor, sandy, rocky, and moderately dry soils. It tolerates harsh environmental conditions and exposed locations. Once established, it exhibits high drought resistance, moderate pollution resistance, and moderate salt tolerance. Its vigorous growth makes it an excellent choice for large-scale groundcover, slopes, erosion control, and low-maintenance landscapes.
