Juniperus Horizontalis ‘Plumosa Compacta’

Andorra Compact Creeping Juniper

Low-growing evergreen conifer with a broad, spreading habit and softly arching, feathery branches. It forms a dense, slightly mounded groundcover with a fine, textured appearance, offering both coverage and ornamental interest.

The foliage is plume-like, composed of delicate, scale-like leaves. Its color is a soft blue-green during the growing season, turning to attractive plum to purplish-bronze tones in winter, creating strong seasonal contrast. This coloration is most pronounced in full sun.

Juniperus horizontalis ‘Plumosa Compacta’ prefers full sun and well-drained soil, thriving in poor, sandy, or rocky conditions. It tolerates moderately dry to dry soils and adapts well to exposed sites. Once established, it shows high drought tolerance, strong resistance to urban pollution, and moderate tolerance to salt. It is ideal for slopes, rock gardens, and as a textured groundcover.
