Crataegus crus-galli ‘Inermis’ is a deciduous ornamental tree with a broad, rounded to spreading crown and a dense branching habit. This thornless selection of Cockspur Hawthorn is highly valued for its attractive glossy foliage, abundant white spring flowers, persistent red fruit, and excellent resistance to urban conditions.

The foliage consists of glossy, dark green leaves that turn attractive shades of orange, bronze, and reddish-purple in autumn. In late spring, clusters of small white flowers cover the branches and are followed by bright red fruits that often persist into winter, providing ornamental interest and food for wildlife.

Crataegus crus-galli ‘Inermis’ prefers full sun and well-drained soil. It adapts well to clay, loam, and sandy soils and tolerates drought, pollution, and urban environments once established.
