Compact, slow-growing dwarf conifer with a rounded to slightly spreading habit, often more flexible and gently cascading than Hinoki types. Over time, it forms a dense, slightly tousled mass with strong ornamental appeal. Its foliage consists of fine, thread-like branchlets that are soft and pendulous, displaying a bright golden-yellow color that is especially vivid in full sun, giving the plant a light, airy texture in the landscape.
Its golden coloration persists year-round, although it may become slightly more greenish in partial shade. The best color intensity is achieved in a sunny position, with some protection from cold, drying winds.
It is widely used in rock gardens, small gardens, decorative landscape plantings, and containers, where its soft habit and vibrant color create attractive contrasts and long-lasting structure.
