Graceful evergreen conifer with a narrow, pyramidal habit and strongly pendulous branches. It develops into an elegant, upright tree with long, cascading branchlets that create a distinctly weeping silhouette, adding movement and vertical interest to the landscape.
The foliage is composed of flattened sprays with fine, scale-like leaves. Its color ranges from deep green to blue-green, maintaining a rich, cool tone throughout the year. In full sun, the color appears slightly brighter, while in partial shade it deepens but remains attractive.
Chamaecyparis nootkatensis ‘Pendula’ prefers full sun to partial shade and thrives in moist, well-drained soil. It tolerates a range of soil types, including slightly acidic conditions, but does not perform well in very dry or poorly drained soils. Once established, it shows moderate drought tolerance, good resistance to urban pollution, and moderate tolerance to salt. It is ideal as a specimen tree or vertical focal point in larger landscapes.
