Acer Platanoides ‘Princeton Gold’

Princeton Gold Norway Maple

Acer platanoides ‘Princeton Gold’ is a deciduous ornamental tree with a broad oval to rounded crown and a strong, upright growth habit. This golden-leaved cultivar of Norway Maple is valued for its bright yellow foliage, dense shade canopy, and excellent adaptability in urban and residential landscapes.

The foliage consists of large, five-lobed leaves that emerge bright golden yellow in spring and gradually mature to yellow-green. The vibrant foliage color remains attractive throughout the growing season, creating a strong contrast with darker green plants. In autumn, the leaves may turn yellow before falling.

Acer platanoides ‘Princeton Gold’ prefers full sun to partial shade and adapts well to a wide range of soils, including clay, loam, and urban soils. It is tolerant of drought, pollution, and difficult growing conditions once established. It is ideal as a shade tree, street tree, specimen tree, or in large landscape settings.
