Taxus cuspidata ‘Monloo’ (Emerald Spreader™) is an evergreen conifer with a low, spreading, and densely branched habit, forming a compact groundcover-like shrub. This selection of Japanese Yew is valued for its horizontal growth, rich emerald-green foliage, and excellent ability to fill landscape spaces.

The foliage consists of soft, flat, dark green needles arranged along spreading branches. The dense foliage creates a fine texture and provides year-round evergreen coverage. Female plants may produce small red fleshy arils that add seasonal ornamental interest.

Taxus cuspidata ‘Monloo’ prefers partial shade to full sun and performs best in moist, well-drained soils. It tolerates a wide range of soil conditions, including clay and urban environments, and responds well to pruning.
