Evergreen conifer with a strong, dense, and broadly pyramidal habit, forming a well-structured ornamental tree with a soft-textured appearance. It is a selected cultivar of Limber Pine valued for its faster growth, attractive blue-green foliage, and more refined garden form compared to the species.
The foliage consists of long, soft, flexible needles grouped in bundles. The needles are a rich blue-green to silvery green, giving the tree a softer texture than many other pines. The dense branching and uniform pyramidal shape make it especially suitable as a specimen conifer.
Pinus flexilis ‘Vanderwolf’s Pyramid’ prefers full sun and well-drained soil. It adapts well to sandy, loamy, and rocky soils and is highly tolerant of dry, exposed conditions. Once established, it shows excellent drought tolerance and very high cold hardiness. It is ideal for specimen planting, large rock gardens, windbreaks, and ornamental landscape focal points.
