Picea Glauca ‘Montrose Charm’

Montrose Charm Spruce

Dwarf evergreen conifer with a compact, irregular globose to broadly pyramidal habit, forming a dense miniature spruce with a slightly informal, textured outline. It is a slow-growing selection of White Spruce valued for its tight branching, refined foliage, and naturally artistic structure.

The foliage consists of short, stiff, bright green needles densely arranged along short shoots. The texture is fine and compact, maintaining strong year-round evergreen presence. Compared to more formal selections like ‘Conica’, it often shows a softer, slightly less rigid outline, giving it a more natural appearance.

Picea glauca ‘Montrose Charm’ prefers full sun to partial shade and well-drained soil. It performs best in slightly acidic to neutral conditions and does not tolerate prolonged wetness or heavy heat stress. Once established, it shows excellent cold hardiness and moderate drought tolerance. It is ideal for rock gardens, dwarf conifer collections, containers, and small ornamental landscapes where texture and natural form are desired.
