Juniperus Chinensis ‘Sargentii Glauca’

Sargent’s Blue Chinese Juniper

Low-growing, evergreen conifer with a broad, spreading habit and gently arching branches. It forms a dense, ground-covering shrub with a layered, slightly irregular structure that brings a natural, flowing look to landscape compositions.

The foliage is fine-textured, made up of needles and scale-like leaves, offering a soft yet slightly prickly feel. Its distinctive color ranges from blue-green to silvery-blue, giving a cool, glaucous tone that remains attractive year-round. The coloration is most intense in full sun and may appear slightly greener in partial shade.

Juniperus chinensis ‘Sargentii Glauca’ prefers full sun and well-drained soil but adapts to a wide range of conditions, including poor, moderately dry to dry, or slightly alkaline soils. Once established, it shows high drought tolerance, strong resistance to urban pollution, and moderate tolerance to salt. It is ideal for slopes, mass plantings, and as a durable, low-maintenance groundcover.
