Abies Fraseri

Fraser Fir

Evergreen conifer with a narrow, pyramidal habit and dense, well-structured branching. It develops into a symmetrical tree with a strong central leader and slightly upturned branch tips, giving it a refined and classic appearance often associated with traditional conifers.

The foliage consists of short, flat needles that are soft to the touch. Its color is a deep, glossy green with distinct silvery bands on the underside, creating a subtle two-tone effect when branches move in the wind. This rich coloration remains attractive year-round, appearing slightly brighter in full sun.

Abies fraseri prefers full sun to partial shade and thrives in cool, moist, well-drained soils. It performs best in slightly acidic conditions and does not tolerate heat, drought, or poorly drained soils. Once established, it has low to moderate drought tolerance, moderate resistance to pollution, and low tolerance to salt. It is widely used as a specimen tree, in reforestation, and as a classic Christmas tree due to its fragrance and needle retention.
