Iris pallida ‘Aurea Variegata’ is a herbaceous perennial with upright sword-like foliage displaying striking creamy yellow and green stripes. This ornamental iris is valued for its attractive evergreen to semi-evergreen foliage, sweetly fragrant lavender flowers, and excellent performance in sunny, well-drained landscapes.

The foliage forms dense clumps of vertical leaves with golden-yellow margins and green centers, providing interest throughout the growing season. In late spring to early summer, tall flower stems rise above the foliage and produce fragrant pale lavender-blue flowers. The blooms are attractive to pollinators and are excellent for garden displays and cut flowers.

Iris pallida ‘Aurea Variegata’ prefers full sun and dry to moderately dry, well-drained soils. It is highly tolerant of drought once established and performs especially well in rock gardens, borders, Mediterranean-style gardens, and low-maintenance landscapes.
