Juniperus Virginiana ‘Skyrocket’

Skyrocket Juniper

Evergreen conifer with an extremely narrow, fastigiate columnar habit, forming a very tight vertical spire. Its growth is dense and strictly upright, with branches held close to the central leader, giving it one of the most rigid and architectural forms among junipers.

The foliage is composed of fine, scale-like leaves tightly appressed to the stems. Its color is a soft silvery-blue to blue-green, often slightly lighter and more muted than other blue junipers, especially in bright sun.

Juniperus virginiana ‘Skyrocket’ prefers full sun and well-drained soil, performing best in sandy, rocky, or lean soils. It does not tolerate wet or poorly drained conditions. Once established, it shows very high drought tolerance, excellent cold hardiness, and strong resistance to wind and urban conditions. It is ideal for narrow vertical accents, tight hedges, screening in small spaces, and formal architectural plantings.
