Juniperus Horizontalis ‘Prince Of Wales’

Prince of Wales Creeping Juniper

Low-growing evergreen conifer with a broad, spreading habit and trailing branches. It forms a very dense, carpet-like mat that hugs the ground, making it one of the most effective groundcovers for large areas and erosion control.

The foliage is fine-textured, composed of small, scale-like leaves. Its color is a rich green during the growing season, turning to attractive purplish to plum tones in winter, providing strong seasonal interest. This color change is most pronounced in full sun.

Juniperus horizontalis ‘Prince of Wales’ prefers full sun and well-drained soil, thriving in poor, sandy, or rocky conditions. It tolerates moderately dry to dry soils and performs well in exposed sites. Once established, it shows high drought tolerance, strong resistance to urban pollution, and moderate tolerance to salt. It is ideal for slopes, mass plantings, and as a durable, low-maintenance groundcover.
