Juniperus Horizontalis ‘Icee Blue’

Icee Blue Creeping Juniper

Low-growing evergreen conifer with a broad, spreading habit and trailing branches. It forms a dense, ground-hugging mat with a slightly more vigorous and flowing growth than many other creeping junipers, making it ideal for covering larger areas.

The foliage is very fine-textured, composed of small, scale-like leaves. Its standout feature is its bright icy blue to silvery-blue coloration, one of the most intense among creeping junipers. This vivid color holds well year-round and may develop subtle purplish tones in winter, especially in colder climates.

Juniperus horizontalis ‘Icee Blue’ prefers full sun and well-drained soil, thriving in poor, sandy, or rocky conditions. It tolerates moderately dry to dry soils and performs well in exposed sites. Once established, it shows high drought tolerance, strong resistance to urban pollution, and moderate tolerance to salt. It is ideal for slopes, mass plantings, and as a striking groundcover.
